On Bloomsday, rocker Joe Hurley led a group of artists in a celebration of the life and work of Irish writer James Joyce. The venue, appropriately, was Ulysses Pub in Lower Manhattan. Playwright Sam Shepard, pictured at left with Hurley, and at right with Hurley and Irish novelist Colum McCann, performed songs by Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. Also on hand were actor Stephen Rea and legendary journalist Pete Hamill.
